This post is about how great hot dogs are and how fun it is to eat them with your friends in your garden at summertime. Or how great it is when your boyfriend brings a pack of icelandic hot dogs from home along with some fried onions. Or how important it is to have good and funny, hot dog loving housemates. And a barbeque. Something like that.

Summer times in April.

29.5.11

A few days before Snorri went on his month long tour around Europe with Hjaltalín in early april we had a nice lazy afternoon in Hampstead Heath. Now where have those warm sunny summer days gone to? Please come back.

We spent the last day of our trip in Liege, where my sister's school is located. She knows the city pretty well and could for example take me to the best waffle stand in town where we had a proper Liege waffle. The secret ingredient she tells me is the huge amount of sugar they add to the dough. Mmm I've been craving one since.

We stayed at a vet's house in Tournai and here you can see the frequent visitors we had in our bed. We both miss our dog Ronja so much that we we're thrilled to be able to spend some time with these guys.

Tournai part two.

23.5.11

In lovely Tournai. We almost didn't see any shops or restaurants in this part of town but of course we came across a Friterie.

On our way to Tournai.

Mmm it's saturday and I've had a lovely and busy week. Yesterday I met wonderful people I worked with at Erdem. On Wednesday I went to amazing These New Puritans concerts with my friend who worked with me at Peter Jensen. I think the best thing about internships might be the people you meet.

Bruges pt. 2.

18.5.11

Bruges is a nice town. Pretty. Almost too pretty. Almost creepily pretty. It would be even nicer if there weren't groups of tourists wearing neon yellow vests riding segways in a queue following a man shouting historical facts in a speakerphone......everywhere.
God I sound grumpy. We actually had a lovely day walking around and had a big plate of spaghetti bolognese for dinner. More pictures to come from purty Bruges.

We had a nice day in Antwerp. Ágústa was kind enough to accompany me to the fashion museum which had a good knitting exhibition. We were also really happy to find a good vegetarian restaurant in the evening.
Our hostel there? Not so nice. Quite horrible actually. I couldn't even bring myself to take a shower there so the next day I had to wear a headscarf. And this is not me being snobbish about hostels. I've stayed at some very bad ones but this was by far the worst. My advice? Don't pick the cheapest hostel in Antwerp! There's a reason why it's cheap. Many reasons perhaps. That's all I'm saying.
