There's something about seagulls that I find really beautiful and funny at the same time. But only when I try and ignore the predator side of them.

Today is saturday. Usually I would go out and not think about work but I have many things to make before I go to Iceland in a few days. Yes Iceland! I've been feeling terribly homesick so I decided to go for a whole month. Going to try to work as much as I can, save up some money but most importantly to spend time in the countryside and meet my friends, hang out with my dog and family, eat fish fish fish and go swimming countless times, go to two weddings, see my boyfriend's release concert, meet the beautiful tiny Óli and hopefully see two of my best friends newborn babies! Please both be born before I go back to London! Crossing fingers.

My sunday activities include: walking along canals admiring fancy boats, looking for ducklings and stalking old people doing their thing on their balconies. I know the last photo is not the most beautiful one since my camera can't really handle much zoom but how cute are they?! I especially like the one knitting with a whole audience of garden gnomes watching her.

Even though it wasn't really warm enough for sunbathing we did go to the beach on our trip. In Calais just before we took the ferry back to Dover. The best thing in my opinion about going to the beach when it's kind of cold and in this case, really windy, is the lack of people. The empty open space (and the wonderful smell of sea!) is so good for clearing your mind. Almost therapeutic.

Ps. My heart is with the people of Norway after the horrible tragic events of yesterday. I'm lost for words.

Late night strolling in our neighborhood. Yes we had a Llama as a neighbor. He was quite nice.

More from Ghent.

On our second day in Belgium we drove to Ghent and met my sister. I think this is my favorite city in Belgium out of those I have visited. And of course I'm only judging on one day trips to those city's so really I don't have a clue. But it's really easy to spend a day there walking around the old town without feeling overcrowded by other tourists (like in Bruges) and it's equally beautiful in my opinion. Relaxed and pleasant. Especially when you're there with your favorite people.

Ps. I finally have a real website which my boyfriend put up for me. Check it here and a million thank you's to Snorri!

Nightlife in the Belgian countryside. That's the little white house we stayed in and those are our three cow friends.

We took the ferry from Dover to Calais and just before it left we went on a little hike on top of the white hills of Dover.

Just came home from a four day trip to Belgium with Snorri and my parents. We stayed in the countryside with cows outside our windows and waking up to some very enthusiastic rooster's crowing. Stayed in Proven and visited Poperinge, Ghent, Lille, Liege and my sister in Waremme of course. I'll show you some photos soon.

My parents are coming to London tonight and I can't wait to see them. On monday we will go to Belgium and spend some time with my sister who is soon finishing her exchange student year. Also my friend Kaja is here, her boyfriend and my housemate's friend. All in all there will be eleven people staying at our house this weekend. A bit crowded but not at all unpleasant.

These are photos I took when me and Snorri went to The Festival of Britain the other day. It was not the most interesting thing in my opinion but I did find these inspiring graphics.
