After a nice day in Brussels we sat down and had a real belgian traditional meal. Moules et frites or mussels with fries. They sure love their fries there. This particular mix of food sounded a bit strange to me at the beginning but it it really goes well together. With belgian beer of course. We headed back to Waremme soon after our meal because we were planning on getting up real early for our trip to Antwerp the next day.

Who needs a new map in english when you've got a 23 year old map in french? Right? Wrong. After walking in circles and spending way too much time trying to make any sense at all out of this antique of a map, we went to the next tourist information and got a single page map, very sensible one, for free.
Found everything we planned to. The handmade chocolate boutique, the very very old bar with nice belgian beer (also included in the bar was a very rude waiter), had some Liege waffles (those are much better in Liege of course - more on that later) and some tasty dinner which I'll show you in the next post.
I'm lying in bed with a bad cold feeling extremely sorry for myself. Why meeee? What have I done to deserve this? Boiling up a real nice chicken soup on the stove which will cure everything. It is my plan. Boyfriend is in the store buying fresh ginger. Also part of plan for restoring health. I'll tell you how it works out.

Listening to music while riding on the train in the countryside of any country may be one of my favourite hobby. Ever. I wonder if it counts as one....
In London the sun has begun shining again. Snorri's home and brought some Icelandic hot dogs with him. So tonight we're having a barbecue and a hot dog party! Yay!

The first feeling I got when I came to Waremme in Belgium was the very good feeling that you can only get when you're in a really REALLY small town. Like you're almost alone in the world. Quietness, calmness and lots of open spaces to rest your eyes on. It's exactly what I so often miss when in London and exactly what I needed. I loved it.

This actually is the last Berlin post. Next up are pictures from Waremme, Belgium. Where my sister lives for the time being.
These are pictures from our last evening in Berlin. I had some green beer in some beer garden. It looked like dishwashing liquid but tasted really nice. A bit like green icelandic popsicle. Mmm I miss those. This beautiful bird caught my eye later that night. It stood still for me for such a long time while I was trying to get the perfect shot. And all the while Snorri waited for me patiently. He's gotten quite used to having to stop and wait for me when I see something worth capturing. I'm not the most fun walking partner in the world I guess.
London is treating us lovely these days. Most days are sunny and summery. Unlike Iceland right now. Do I miss it? Nahhh.
