31.12.10

In order to properly look back on the year 2010 I'm posting one picture from each month of the year. Here's a little description:

January: I've never experienced such a beautiful new years day. We wen't to Bugða, our country cabin, and the river had frozen completely still so of course we went iceskating! Every part of the ground was covered with ice crystals and I took a lot of photos. Maybe I'll share them with you soon as I didn't have a blog back then. In the picture you see my legs to the left so I didn't actually take this photo. My sister did. As you can see she has a very good artistic eye.

February: Rather uneventful month. Working in the café Grái Kötturinn in downtown Reykjavík with some fun girls. I don't miss serving coffee but I do miss these girls. One night we wen't bowling and Maja (pictured) did not have the best bowling skills but she made it all up with her fantastic cheering skills when ever she knocked down a cone.

March: The month of the big volcano thing. I did take pictures of it from inside a small plane but I was shaking so much that none of them are in focus. So I'm posting a picture of Ronja from a trip we took to Bugða. This time the place was covered with snow. Aint she the prettiest dog?

April: Me and Snorri took a drive to Úlfljótsvatn with his two sisters and their little boys. Suddenly we we're hit with a snowstorm and decided to hurry home. Símon had something to tell us when we we're hurrying them into the car. I took a picture as he said: "Bensi has pooped in his pants and also he burped." You can see Bensi stumbling about in the background -quite devastated.

May: I took ridiculously few pictures in May. But I did take a picture of this lovely chicken soup which I made from scratch.

June: Went and visited two of my good friends who live in Denmark. Did some late night-outdoors dancing on a bridge with Kaja who earlier in the day had received the highest grade for her masters project in architecture. Good girl! A lot of champagne bottles where popped in various gardens.

July: Met this perfect cat on Baldursgata while on my way to the annual FTT party which is always a perfect summer celebration.

August: Said goodbye to my beautiful baby sister who wen't to do an exchange program in Belgium for a whole year. I took so many pictures of her this day that in the end she asked: "Are you worried you'll forget what I look like?" I miss her.

September: Moved to London with my Snorri and four of our good friends!

October: Found this pretty fall clad tree while walking around Dalston.

November: Walked around South Kensington and realized how much I love living in London.

December: Been spending the holidays in Iceland with my family and my dog! I've had my mind set on enjoying this time as much as I can as I do not know when I will be in Iceland again. But I'm also really looking forward to going to London in January and starting a new internship.

Happy new year everybody!
