Some photos from early january. All from our country cabin in Iceland. I'm really missing Ronja again.....I really really need to have a pet. My friend and flatmate Þórunn feels the same way and we're thinking we might get a parrot! Will have to convince the remaining flatmates though. 

Last tuesday was my b-day! Even though I was working most of the day it turned out to be a very nice birthday. Þórunn baked some pancakes when I woke up and gave me a present which included this wonderful Elvis mask (I looove him) and a beautiful necklace she made. Another flatmate of mine, Svala, gave me a cool camera and I also got to open presents from three of my friends from home who sent me to London with some b-day gifts. Yay! I won't lie.....I do love receiving presents. Later in the day two friends of mine from work surprised me with a birthday muffin with a home made drawn candle on top, which was so sweet of them.

When I got home from work a very nice surprise awaited me as my boyfriend had come home from Iceland without me knowing about it. He also had cooked us spaghetti bolognese which he does so well.  So in the end I had a very very unexpectedly nice 2(gr)8 birthday. Oh and that's me on the last picture trying to master the famous Elvis -curling of the lip.

Windows 2011.

Spring? Is that you? Oooh lala! London's quite cold, rainy and grey but it's ok because some of the trees already have pink flowers on. Purty. 

My Erdem internship is starting off kind of like I would have gone to sewing camp. I like this fact as I need to learn how to sew better and faster. Bring it on!

Three moments from today. 

1. Saw this cute kid in a shop on Commercial street. It's these kind of moments that make me so happy to have my camera on me. Would have hated to have missed this shot. 

2. Was going to take a picture of the dove to the right because she was awkwardly trying to sit on that fence. Suddenly the other dove came up next to it causing the right one to panic and fly off and create beautiful movement in my photograph. 

3. Interrupted this cat (who seemed to live in this cornershop) in cleaning his.....umm.....rear?

Driving in Iceland. 

Only two days left in Iceland. Having a bit stressful time trying to say goodbye to everyone before I leave for London. It feels strange not knowing when I'll come back. Trying to spend as much time as I can with my dog -the one who for sure can't come visit me in London. Sad face. 

First days of 2011 in Bugða.

We had such a nice and fun new years eve with Snorri's family. The turkey dinner was perfect like always with the best sweet potato pie ever which I look forward to eating every year. After that we watched Áramótaskaupið (an annual comedy program), went out to pop some champagne at midnight, listened to some vinyl records when back inside (me and Snorri's sisters had a dramatic moment singing along to this song -gotta love power ballads!) and then we did some dancing till dawn.

Right now I'm enjoying some lazy time at my parents country cabin. Hope you're enjoying the first days of 2011!
