These pictures suggest that autumn has hit us here in London but today it feels like summer is not gone at all. For us Icelanders it's almost ridiculous to be able to go outside without a jacket when the calendar shows october! I'm not complaining at all but I still look forward to seeing the trees decorated in beautiful autumn colors. On the day that happens I'm heading straight for Hampstead Heath Park.
These pictures are actually taken in Haggerston Park which is located close by our apartment. It's quite nice and is the home of Hackney City Farm. The farm is a very strange place and I felt rather weird walking around there. Not sure if I will visit them again but I couldn't help taking a picture of the chicken who to me always have this funny intelligent/critical/angry look on their faces.

Some pictures from random walks around London. I love the colors of the faded old paint in the last picture. I looked up D. & J. Simons & Sons ltd. and it was a shipbuilding company founded in 1840.

We had a really nice lazy day today. Woke up late, Snorri made eggs and bacon and then we headed to Broadway market. I love this market! It is really close by with a nice walk along the Regent's canal. And it has all kinds of mouthwatering delicacy, nice designers selling their stuff and vintage clothing. I bought a vintage french advertisement and such beautiful fabric at a nice fabric store on the street. I'll show you the fabric later. Tonight we're going to meet up with our friends and go out dancing.

I'm going to start sharing with you some of the too many blogs I frequently visit. The first one is 3191 miles apart. They are two friends, who are 3191 miles apart in the world, and post about every week. It's the kind of blog that I look forward to reading each week and almost need to have a big cup of nice hot tea with me when I do.

It was almost impossible to say goodbye to my dog Ronja. She absolutely did not understand the importance of the long hug I tried to give her. And I can't skype her! Really, I tried it yesterday. I decided before I left that the best way would be to take her for a long goodbye walk. So here are pictures from our last walk before I moved to London.

When feeling a bit overwhelmed by the city (and maybe missing the Icelandic nature a little) the best thing is to pack some lunch and take the train to Hampstead Heath Park.

A few pictures from our first days in London. We're still getting to know our neighbourhood in Hackney but we like it better and better each day.
Picture perfect cat on Baldursgata.
This one I met in Gothemburg.
My old neighbour on Lokastígur.
Also an old neighbour. Didn't like this one quite as much. He used to take a daily dump in our garden.
A beautiful Icelandic sheepdog I met on Skólavörðustígur.

Wouldn't life be boring without animals?
